Belgians no more bus shelters
LONDON - With the purchase of a large printing press -
the device was delivered yesterday - trying Muller Visual Amsterdam
company to settle in the market for large print.
So far is printing for billboards, bus shelters and
mainly from Belgium and Germany.
Visual Muller is a medium sized company with a staff
of one hundred and twenty million euros of turnover.
It has been specializing in large format printing.
For the new printing press, a Man Roland 904-8, the
company paid 5.5 million euros. The factory floor was
a new concrete foundation to get the one hundred-ton unit can
carry.
The machine can deliver images up to 130 x 185 cm, the
size of the posters in bus shelters. The even larger
images, the billboards, must be printed in four parts.
The machine is also 64 pages of A4 size prints at once,
making the production of books a lot faster and cheaper.
According to Fritz Muller Visual Häcker of the market
for printing on when saturated. "There is an enormous
amount of companies that print supplies. So we have some time ago
specializing in large format, even though we have business
cards.''
"In the Amsterdam region has sixty to seventy percent
of all the large print that you see on the street from us. With
this machine we can now for the really big companies coming."
The printing and a half years ago decided the
investment. "With the press at the moment we are one
of the few companies in the Netherlands that this format can
handle." The only possible competitor, the company
called Hacker PDB Hardenberg in Overijssel, which can print images
of 120 x 160 cm.
It takes three weeks for the new press to
assemble. The machine consists of four cylinders for
the colors cyan, yellow, magenta and black, which each weigh twenty
tons. Behind it is another roll area. The
total is ten meters long and two meters wide.
According to Henk Schutte VOB Hardenberg Muller Visual
indeed the only Dutch competitor in large format. Yet
he says no need to worry about Muller, with his new machine and its
convenient location in the Randstad.
"Such a machine to buy is one thing, but make sure he
is profitable, is half. The customers know us and unless Muller now
far below the price it will produce, I am more concerned about the
Belgians," said Schutte.
